Wild edges add a danger to everything.
But these wild edges sustain life, feathered ledges, Stormies churring
Just as the guillimots egg, weighted by the best engineer, refuses to fall - the Isle’s own Phoenix is reborn.
More like a Bonxie, perhaps? Sturdy, hardy and radge.
There is a fierce hope here, it’s knitted landward into the rigs.
It sways with the cotton grass
A strength too, as the heaviest breaker heaves her sonic boom against the stack vault A salt gruffness to the voice that speaks of gentle things.
We forgive the fogbound bond, it respects the balance of things
Wave upon wave, memory fastens us to the past, across the long wave -
Wild edges add a danger to everything.
A need for man to be sure-footed, a deeper need for man to be sure-tongued These wild edges protect us, for as long as we breathe...
The isle saga continues.
Warmth
Don your oilskins, for survival
Wear to rival selkie’s skin
We indulge thee, wrath of Neptune
Warmth of kinship lies within.
Easterly Squall
The hours are silver, the minutes are blue
Silent the treasure, the spring diamond dew
The evening air trembles with the curlew’s call
For wrack line reward, bless the easterly squall
A flush of Aurora, all eyes to the sky
A mantle of energy, Empyrean sigh
The deepest heart softens as the gale fades
The left hand of God spins the blades
Scottish folk centred around fiddle and piano. The album begins with Dawn Chorus, which slowly awakens to the rising sun. There are reflective compositions throughout, while Almost Home and Ascending lift the mood back up. I think Megan Henderson and Lauren MacColl should do a gig together. Master of Alchemy
Thanks for the beautiful music Karine and Dave. it's been a while since I've felt so emotional listening to a new album. Every lyric is so beautifully supported by the piano parts. Laura-Beth Salter
Irish singer-songwriter Oisin Leech's acoustic folk music is characterized by its muted beauty and intimate, solitary quality. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 16, 2024
A gorgeous journey through a kaleidoscopic array of sonic approaches melted together that feels old and new at the same time. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 5, 2024
Oh gosh, this is a beautiful work. I cried, that cry where you are sad and happy at the same time, the cry that music makes you do.
Thank you for making my dreary Saturaday Scandinavian November morning epic. vodrem
